About Energy in Brazil
The current Brazilian energy matrix is predominantly hydroelectric plants, with more than 60% of generation. But this is not something that should last forever, as investments are being made to generate more energy from renewable sources such as wind and solar.
In the diagram below, prepared by the National Electric System Operator (ONS), we can see how the matrix is organized today and how the division expected for 2025 will be.

Transmission
Transmission lines are defined and geographically separated. The companies that normally work these lines agree on concessions for several decades in order to offer the service.
Brazil has, in 2021, more than 145 thousand km of transmission lines. All of them are organized according to the National Interconnected System (SIN)
When energy reaches urban centers, it is received by lowering substations, which will reduce the voltage in order to distribute energy to all consumers in nearby cities.
